In Mahjong Island, a Set is three identical tiles, like three 7 Dot tiles.

Where do Sets show up in a hand?
Every hand on the Island Card is written as groups of identical tiles. A group can be a Single (1), a Pair (2), a Set (3), a Quad (4), a Quint (5), or a Sextet (6). You win by completing one hand: 14 tiles that match one line on the card.
Winds can make a Set too. Three East tiles are a Set, just like three 7 Dot tiles. You can meet every tile in the guide to Mahjong Island tiles, suits, Winds, and Dragons.

Can a Joker be part of a Set?
Yes. A Joker can fill a Set, so two 5 Crak tiles and a Joker still make a Set. A Joker can never fill a Single or a Pair. Read more in the guide to Mahjong Island Jokers.

A simple tip for beginners
Use your Jokers on Sets, not Pairs. A Joker can fill a Set, but never a Pair. For the full rules, read how to play Mahjong Island, a simple guide for beginners.
Mahjong Island is free to play. You can play a hand against 3 bots in your browser right away, with no sign-up and no download.
