How do you win at Mahjong Island? You complete one hand on the Island Card: 14 tiles that match one line on the card.

The Island Card is Mahjong Island's own card of hands. The Island Card 2027 has 45 hands in 9 sections. Each month also adds 3 Bonus Hands.

What is a hand made of?

Each line on the card is written as groups of identical tiles. A Pair is 2 identical tiles. A Set is 3, and a Quad is 4. Some lines also ask for numbers in a row, like 1-2-3-4-5, as Singles (1 tile each).

A Pair: two Red Dragons.
A Set: three 7 Dot tiles.
A Quad: four 3 Bam tiles.

One tip for beginners: pick 2 or 3 hands early

Right after the deal, compare your tiles with the card. Find the 2 or 3 hands your tiles are closest to. Keep the tiles those hands share.

A tile that none of those hands uses is the easiest one to pass or discard. In the Charleston, when players pass tiles, give away the tiles your best hands need least.
