A self-drawn win in Mahjong Island means you complete your winning hand with a tile you draw yourself. This bonus is called Self-Drawn Win, and it adds +2 Mult to your score.
In Mahjong Island, you win by completing one hand on the Island Card, the game's own card of hands. A winning hand is 14 tiles that match one line on the card.
How does a win earn Self-Drawn Win?
A win earns Self-Drawn Win when your last, winning tile comes from your own draw. On your turn, you draw a tile. If that tile completes your hand, the win is self-drawn.
A win made with another player's discard is still a win. It just does not earn this bonus.
How much does Self-Drawn Win add?
Self-Drawn Win adds 2 to your Mult, the multiplier on your score. Every winning hand scores Chips × Mult, and Mult starts at 2. So a self-drawn win alone brings your Mult to 4.
Other bonuses stack on top. Every +Mult Hand adds first, then every ×Mult Hand multiplies. A self-drawn win that is also Jokerless (×2 Mult) reaches a Mult of 8. The Mahjong Island scoring guide shows the full count.
One tip: hold on to a Gull Joker
If you are dealt a Gull Joker, keep it in your hand. A Gull Joker adds +4 Mult on a Self-Draw win, on top of the +2 from Self-Drawn Win itself. The Jokers guide explains every kind.
