Yes, you can play Mahjong Island alone. You play a full hand against 3 bots, free, right in your browser. There is no sign-up and no download.

How does playing Mahjong Island alone work?

The bots fill the other seats at the table. They play by the same rules you do. They never see your hidden tiles.

Mahjong Island is American-style mahjong on its own Island Card, a card of hands written by Mahjong Island.

What are you trying to build?

You win by completing one hand on the Island Card: 14 tiles that match one line on the card.

Each hand is written as groups of identical tiles. A Set is 3 matching tiles. Here is one.

A Set: three 7 Dot tiles.

A Pair is 2 identical tiles.

A Pair: two Red Dragons.

Another way to play alone: the Daily Puzzle

The Daily Puzzle is 3 boards to solve in order each day. First you pick which hand on the card to chase. Then you pick a tile to pass, and a tile to discard.

Solving it earns that day's collectible tile. The tile stays on your profile.
